Version 8 also has a number of new UI features introduced into the RTL. In no particular order here they are:<\/p>\n<h2>Three-state Checkbox controls<\/h2>\n<p>Checkbox controls now provide an optional third state.\u00a0 The CHECK control can offer either two states (ON or OFF) or three states (ON, OFF and INDETERMINATE).<br \/>\nBy default, when the CHECK is unchecked (off) the USE variable receives a value of zero (0); when the CHECK is checked (on), the USE variable receives a value of one (1), and when the CHECK is in indeterminate state the USE variable, by default, receives a value of two (2) . The VALUE attribute can be used to change the default ON\/OFF values, and set the USE variable to other values. You can also use the runtime properties PROP:TrueValue and PROP:FalseValue.<\/p>\n<p>If the STATE3 attribute is enabled then you have a three-state checkbox.\u00a0 You can specify the value the USE variable receives in the Designer or at runtime with PROP:State3Value.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/3state-w7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-892\" title=\"3state-w7\" src=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/3state-w7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/3state-xp.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-893 aligncenter\" title=\"3state-xp\" src=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/3state-xp.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"208\" height=\"148\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Three-State Check controls; Win 7 on the left and XP on the right<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Another feature that applies to both CHECK controls and OPTION controls; both now support a ReadOnly property.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Gradient support on Toolbar controls<\/h2>\n<p>All of the existing implementation for creating gradients are now supported for Toolbar controls.\u00a0 You can create much nicer looking Toolbars though I&#8217;m make no claims about my artistic ability, I think this looks pretty good:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/31.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-897\" title=\"3\" src=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/31.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"771\" height=\"78\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/tbar_gradient22.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-916\" title=\"tbar_gradient2\" src=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/tbar_gradient22.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"493\" height=\"105\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Gradient support for PANEL and BOX controls<\/h2>\n<p>Same here, all of the existing implementation for creating gradients are now supported for BOX and PANEL controls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/box_panel.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-898\" title=\"box_panel\" src=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/box_panel.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"739\" height=\"306\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/moreGradients1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-917\" title=\"moreGradients\" src=\"https:\/\/clarionsharp.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/moreGradients1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"726\" height=\"305\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>PROP:NoTheme<\/h2>\n<p>When the Sheet\/Tab control was updated to support OS Themes most users were pretty happy, but those who liked to use their own Colors were not as happy.
